My husband discovered Twin River Campground about 10 years ago on a gold panning trip.  We recently decided to take the kids as a family Father’s Day trip and enjoy a getaway to New Hampshire.

Usually when we go camping, we stay in a tent.  Twin Rivers is something different, designed largely in part for RVs, but also has cottages, campsites with cabins, and some wooded campsites.

We rented a cottage at the campground.  The kids were thrilled, and we were too.  It was nice to have all the features of a camping trip but with the option of a comfortable cottage.

One of the cool things is that you can check out the Twin Rivers Campground online, with virtual tours of the cottages, trailers, campground, playground, and more – so you know just what to expect.

The cottage had lots of good amenities like a kitchenette, two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, TV, and porch.  It is so nice to be able to bring our own food when we travel.

The beds were nice and comfy, perfect for relaxing after a busy day at the campground and traveling.

The campground has a lot to offer for families.  As soon as we checked in, the kids headed to the playground.

Another thing the kids couldn’t wait to do was try out the mini golf course.

We all had fun playing rounds of mini golf.

One of our favorite things about the campground is that they have a heated pool!  I have very fond memories of this pool because this is where my daughter learned to swim!  The pool is not too deep, and since it is warm, it was very inviting and the kids had such a great time.

There is a small store, which offers basic necessities to toys, to goldpanning and mining supplies.

This area in New Hampshire is known as being a good place for gold panning.  Not only do they sell true goldpanning supplies, but they also sell kits and bags of material for using with their sluice.  Some kits have bits of gold flakes, and we chose one with fossils, which was pretty cool.

In addition to all the activities, we had fun taking walks and exploring around the campground.

After a long, fun-filled day, we enjoyed sitting around the fire, making s’mores (and using our Mystical Fire packets to turn the fire into cool colors!).  Of course, firewood is available at the camp store.
