On a recent trip to Oregon, we decided to check out some different beaches. While staying in Manzanita, we traveled just south to Nehalem Bay State Park.  It is easy to find with Google Maps, and we stopped at the registration booth to pay a $5 parking fee.  There was an abundant amount of parking, even on a weekend in mid-August.

We were able to use Google Maps to navigate there.

Despite being mid-August, the weather was cool and breezy, so I recommend layers.

The beach is beautiful, with visibly salty air, dunes, and driftwood.

We found some starfish on the beach.

As well as some jellyfish.

The beach was very quiet on a weekend morning, but I imagine it gets busy, as there are a lot of parking spots and places to rent horses for horseback riding.

We had a wonderful time walking around on the beach and enjoying the scenery.

Visit the Oregon State Parks website for more information.
