On a recent trip to Seattle, Washington, we decided to make a pit stop at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium located in Tacoma.  The zoo is easy to find, although be prepared for traffic in the Tacoma area.  We arrived fairly early in the day, and by the time we left right after lunch, there were people parked up and down the roads.  I recommend getting there early if possible, to save yourself the hassle of having to park far.

We paid for our tickets and began exploring.  We decided to check out the aquarium portion first, as there were some new exhibits that had been added recently.  How beautiful are these jellyfish!

After checking out the aquarium, we made our way to the animal exhibits.  We were able to see some wolves close up at this exhibit.

The bird exhibit was really neat.  You can buy bird seed on a stick, so the birds come to you and sit on the sticks to eat.  We love being able to find interactive experiences that really engage the kids.

We had a nice day at Point Defiance, wandering between exhibits.  We went in late August, and the weather was very nice there.

Point Defiance is very kid-friendly, with restrooms, water bottle filling stations, strollers for rent, places to eat, etc.
